I know the fight against addiction because I’ve lived it. I’ve been homeless, cycled through county jail and federal prison, and come close to death more than 30 times from overdoses. I’ve spent long stretches in hospital beds, lost family, lost my purpose, and at times, felt like I had lost my very spirit. Addiction took everything from me — but recovery gave me a second chance.
I am alive today because places like The Chaz Foundation existed for me when I needed them most. Now, I’ve made it my mission to create that same lifeline for others. This foundation is more than an organization — it’s proof that no matter how far someone has fallen, with the right support, recovery is possible.

Payton, our CFO, is in recovery herself and brings both professional skill and personal passion to The Chaz Foundation. Having faced addiction at just 19, she knows the pain of lost opportunities and the struggle to find purpose. Today, she is dedicated to helping young women overcome the same battles she once fought, serving as a pillar of strength and hope for those rebuilding their lives in recovery and mental health.
